Syrians with UFF Forms for Affixing the Visa should now be able to leave Turkey for the UK


RR contacted the Turkish embassy in London and the British embassy in Ankara to enable Syrians with UFF forms to leave Turkey to the UK. We have been notified that the issue has been resolved.

Meeting with UN Special Envoy to Syria Stephan de Mistura


RR attended a public meeting with Stefan de Mistura, UN Special Envoy for Syria, at Chatham House in London on 5 March. We were also privileged to attend a subsequent smaller meeting organised by Oxfam between the Special Envoy and select Syrian organisations in the UK.

RR Hosts Successful Indoor Family Fun Day for British Syrians


RR held its indoor family fun day on 12 April, and we were delighted to host Syrians from all over Britain. The event provided a means for Syrians to network with each other and for all family members to enjoy themselves.

The Syrian Woman: Conflict and Peace


RR, in collaboration with Jasmine of Peace, hosted a women-only event on 7 March in celebration of International Women's Day 2015. The audience learned about the struggles, hopes, aspirations, and experiences of the Syrian woman.

'It is not a civil war': A lecture at Manchester University


RR delivered a seminar on Friday 17 April at the Humanitarian & Conflict Response Institute at the University of Manchester about the situation in Syria. The seminar talked about the reasons behind the Syrian uprising against the Assad regime and how the media is distorting the situation on ground.



Peacebuilding approaches to violent extremism in Europe


RR participated in the Conflict Ideas Forum hosted by International Alert in London on Tuesday 28 April. This forum explored peacebuilding approaches to violent extremism in Europe and provided an opportunity for practitioners and academics to discuss fresh approaches that could be developed in tackling this issue.



The economy of Syria: A state or a family farm


RR hosted the Manchester Syrian community's monthly seminar at its multi-purpose facility on Sunday 22 March titled: “The Syrian economy: A state or a family farm”. The seminar was delivered by Mr. Mohammad Hazaa Alheraki.

The Syrian Revolution: The present and the future


RR hosted the Manchester Syrian community's monthly seminar at its multi-purpose facility on Sunday 26 April 2015 titled: “The Syrian Revolution: The present and the future”. The seminar was delivered by Dr. Abdulkarim Bakkar over GoMeeting.


London March for Revolution's 4th Anniversary


RR organised a bus from Manchester to participate in the London march for the 4th anniversary of the Syrian revolution. We waved our freedom flags proudly and reminded the world that Syrians' priority remains the ouster of the Assad regime.

A vigil for Syria to mark four years of the humanitarian crisis in Syria


RR participated in a vigil organised by Oxfam to mark four years of the humanitarian crisis in Syria. RR reminded the audience of the atrocities that continue to take place and stressed that the international community needs to start working in the interest of the Syrian people.
