Rethink Rebuild Society participated in the "Power Up: Pushing back against the ‘Hostile Environment" event in Manchester on the 19th of March. The event held lectures and workshops on resisting detention, deportation and immigration enforcement, securing employment support, and resisting the hostile environment in healthcare.

Palestinian Day 13 in Manchester

RR attended the Palestine Traditional Day event in Manchester on Saturday 18 November organised by the Palestinian Forum in the UK to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the atrocious Balfour Declaration. The day was filled with activities including a film screening, a Dabkah by the Palestinian band AL-Forsan, an art gallery, and a traditional food bazaar.

On the 1st of November, Rethink Rebuild Society attended a roundtable discussion held by The UK Department for International Development (DFID) with NGOs working on the humanitarian response to Syria.

TellMAMA "How Extremism Impacts on Hate Crime" event

We attended an event hold by TellMAMA organisation on Tuesday 3rd October about "How Extremism Impacts on Hate Crime". The speakers highlighted an insight into hate crimes and the importance of tackling and reporting hate crimes in addition to some keyfindings from tellMAMA upcoming annual report on the state of anti-Muslim hate crime in 2016.

Common Purpose meeting with Zrinka Bralo and Syrian diaspora

We attended a meeting in London on 19 September organised by Common Purpose to bring together leaders from the Syrian diaspora in the UK and to hear from the experiences of Zrinka Bralo, Chief Executive of Migrants Organise and Bosnian refugee.
