On Saturday, 6 July 2013, the British Syrian Community of Manchester held its third annual family fun day (Together for Syria III). This year, the community has chosen Burnage School to host the massive gathering of Syrians and supporters from all over UK.
Blessed with a sunny day, many organizations participated in (Together for Syria III) whose proceeds went towards providing baby milk for the suffering children of Syria through Syria Relief and Human Appeal International charities. Hundreds of visitors turned up for the fun day and many of them found it a good chance to see each other. Between 12:00 and 19:30, there was a variety of activities in all quarters of the venue.
As usual, Syrian food and sweets were an attraction for the visitors. Besides, there was a bazaar of handmade crafts. On other stalls were drinks, ice cream, henna and face painting.
Children entertained themselves in a bouncy castle, football challenge, sumo wrestling, and above all a go-kart race course.
On a 5-A side grass field, a four-team football tournament was played with a Libyan team winning the trophy.
(Together for Syria III) added a new great success for the British Syrian Community of Manchester to help our people in Syria. Hope to see you again next year inshallah.
