Dr Alhamwi speaks at Syria Week event in Liverpool

Amnesty International Society along with the Liverpool University Arab Society, University and College Union and Help the Homeless Society organised on Monday 13 March a seminar about the conflict in Syria as part of the Syria Week event held in Liverpool university.


Sussex Friends of Free Syria event: Media narratives on Syria

We were invited to speak at an event on 14 March at the University of Sussex, hosted by the Sussex Friends of Syria, titled 'Media narratives on Syria: Common misconceptions and their implications'. We spoke on a panel alongside Martin Chulov, Middle East Correspondent for The Guardian.


Syria's Rebellious Women

For International Women's Day we held on Sunday 12 March a film screening of Syria's Rebellious Women, a documentary by award winning journalist, Zaina Erhaim.


CAABU and Human Appeal Paliamentary Event

We attended a Parliamentary event on 13 March co-hosted by CAABU and Human Appeal on their joint work on Syria. The event provided updates on both organisations' work with respect to Syria and highlighted witness accounts from Aleppo. Both Dr. Hamza Alkhatib and Waad Alkhatib spoke at the event to highlight the horrors that Aleppo had experienced. Dr.


A Lecture at Manchester University's HCRI

On Thursday 9 March, Dr Haytham Alhamwi from RR and Dr Ayman Jundi from Syria Relief charity gave a lecture on the crisis in Syria for a module in the Humanitarianism and Conflict Response Institute which was shared with a module in the Global Development Institute.
