Our Research & Policy Coordinator Bilal Shami was live on BBC Breakfast to comment on the UK's military response to the Assad regime's suspected use of chemical weapons in Douma, Eastern Ghouta, on April 7th. Bilal stressed that deterrence must be made against all atrocities against civilians, not just using chemical weapons, and that follow-up steps must be taken towards pressuring the Assad regime to the negotiating table to end the war and engage with the political process.
