We were excited to talk at the first Conference for Young people in Humanitarianism at the University of Manchester. 124 secondary schools and 18 teaching staff from all over Manchester attended the conference on Wednesday 22 June 2016.
RR had two talks in one of the workshops of that conference. The first was by Mr Yasser Aljassem who talked about the situation in Syria and about his refugee journey from Syria to the UK. The second talk was a short one by Dr Haytham Alhamwi who talked about the work of the Rethink Rebuild Society and how our young children can help new refugees in the UK. It was an important event to bring our next generation up with empathy and compassion in the wake of human tragedy.
