Sussex Friends of Free Syria event: Media narratives on Syria

We were invited to speak at an event on 14 March at the University of Sussex, hosted by the Sussex Friends of Syria, titled 'Media narratives on Syria: Common misconceptions and their implications'. We spoke on a panel alongside Martin Chulov, Middle East Correspondent for The Guardian.

We highlighted that there is an information gap when it comes to media reporting on the Syrian conflict, namely that many members of the British public do not realise that Assad is committing the most atrocities against civilians. We discussed this issue with reference to our recent BBC report as well as the street interviews which we filmed earlier last year.
