UK Syrian groups question why National Liberal Club is hosting pro-Assad conference

A conference hosted by the 'European Centre for the Study of Extremism’ is hosting a pro-Assad conference on 5-6 April at the National Liberal Club in London. On 6 April, eight UK-based Syrian organisations issued a press release questioning the decision of the NLC to host this conference given a clear, albeit hidden, agenda of whitewashing the criminal Assad regime in Syria which only on 4 April committed a chemical attack against the city of Khan Sheikhoun which killed dozens and injured hundreds. These organisations also submitted a letter directly to the President and Vice President of the NLC on 5 April to outline their concerns.

The conference was previously advertised as Cambridge-based . Event participants were emailed less than twelve hours prior to the event that it would be held at the NLC in London.
