Tortured and abused: hidden horror of 'disappeared' women in Syrian prisons

To mark the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearance, an article was released on 30 August in The Guardian, with input from Rethink Rebuild Society and Amnesty International, to highlight the plight of disappeared women in Assad regime's prisons. This article sheds light on examples of torture that women undergo in prison and includes an interview from a former female detainee currently living in Manchester.
